What's your story?

I came across Donald Miller's newest book, "A Million Miles in a Thousand Years" a few weeks ago.  You can check it out at http://amillionmiles.com/.  It's a great and a quick read but has a powerful message.

Basically, Miller was asked if he would allow a couple of guys to make a movie of his life.  As he pondered that idea, he felt that there was really nothing worthy of a movie which he had done.  The director was not detered and work began on the script.  Miller, in an attempt to make his life more interesting, suggested writing the script more in the way he would like his life to go than how it had actually gone.  In the process, he is challenged to live his life in such a way so that when one day he faces God, he would be able to tell his life story to God and God would be pleased.

The book is written in a format which deals with the essential elements of story telling and Miller uses both his "uneventful" past and his new found passion for life to illustrate what it means to tell a great story.  In fact, not only does he tell a great story, he ends up living a great story.

Like all of Miller's other books, you are entertained and challenged.  At times, you get lost in his rablings only to suddenly find yourself confronted with a truth about your own life and the story you are living.

I suggest you think about the story your life is telling and if you don't like it, it's not too late to change it!
